13 SMEs selected for the 2023 Start-ups Meet Pharma

Thirteen exceptional start-ups from around the world have been selected to participate in the 5th edition of the Start-ups Meet Pharma programme.

In 2023, we collaborated with Abbott, GSK, and Takeda, three pharmaceutical corporations, to jointly execute this year’s Start-ups Meet Pharma program. We are happy to announce now the selection of 13 start-ups that provide operational products and services to address the challenges released by the pharma partners.

The SMEs, coming from different parts of the world, will participate in several training sessions and seminars over the coming months, spend time exploring individual partnerships together with pharma representatives and get ready for the Demo Day in September 2023. The programme was formally launched in May and is currently in its core phase.

The chosen startups for each challenge are listed below:

GSK – Disruptive solutions for early disease identification and lack of quality of care for systemic lupus erythematosus

Predicta Med

Predicta Med is an AI based digital health company in the field of predictive analytics. Coming from Israel, they are connecting the dots of undiagnosed autoimmune diseases. Predicta has been also selected for Takeda’s challenge.

Khure Health Inc

Khure Health has developed a platform that allows physicians to maximize the effectiveness of their EMRs while maintaining control of patient data. Based in Toronto, their mission is to empower physicians to identify patients with rare diseases and assist in care pathway optimization.

MultiplAI Health LTD

MultiplAI Health is a diagnostics company leveraging advances in next-generation sequencing and artificial intelligence to enable universal screening for cardiovascular and other complex diseases.

Saventic Health

This Polish med-tech company creates artificial intelligence algorithms to support doctors in diagnosing rare (hidden) diseases early based on patient's medical records i.e. laboratory test results, radiology, and other descriptive medical data.

Causal Foundry Spain SL

Causal foundry uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to personalize clinical and behavioral interventions adapted to the individual’s genes, clinical parameters, environment, and habits to ensure that each person lives their healthiest possible life

Takeda – Improving Clinical Decision Support Systems in Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

This German SME’s vision is to provide affordable, accessible personalized medicine for as many patients as possible with non-invasive, wearable, and user-friendly MedTech, and they are developing their good.gut app especially for IBD patients.

Sidekick

Sidekick's clinically-validated digital therapeutic solutions and platform are built on science, rooted in behavioral economics, and scalable across multiple therapeutic areas. When combined with traditional treatment, efficacy can be strongly increased.

Alpamax

Alpamax OÜ aims to make a mark in the healthcare industry through research and developing innovative Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) that enhance patient outcomes and empower healthcare professionals.

Abbott – Development of a non-invasive tool/device for monitoring the health status of the gut microbiome

Olive Dx

Olive Dx has developed a 100% passive continuous urinalysis system that mounts to any toilet. The device is able to perform molecular analysis on the urine stream, and urine characteristic analysis such as volume, pressure, duration, color and frequency.

Test Card

TestCard is a platform technology that is revolutionizing healthcare by increasing the accessibility and diagnostic capability of non-invasive testing. With award-winning innovative technology that turns a mobile phone into a clinical-grade scanner, TestCard makes testing more accessible for consumers and in clinical settings.

Food Marble

Coming from Dublin, FoodMarble’s AIRE is the world's first personal digestive tracker. It helps people who experience digestive discomfort track how they respond to different foods. AIRE is a hand-held, affordable breath analysis device and associated app that is based on techniques used in gastroenterology departments around the world.

Nimble Science

Nimble Sciences is a Canadian SME offering real-time access to the novel data-rich environment of the small intestine via a passive capsule sampling approach, catalyzing innovation in therapeutics and diagnostics.

Deversify

Deversify innovates, develops, and commercializes mobile electronic breathalyzers for the consumer market as well as for businesses and healthcare providers. They deliver precision wellness and health.
